Romeo is a nine year old boy with mild factor VIII deficiency. He is in the first grade where his favorite subject is math. Romeo enjoys singing and would like to be a priest when his grown. Romeo bleeds two times a year on average. He visited the clinic three times last year and received two infusions. Romeo lives with his parents, Romeo and Maria, and his five siblings. He has four brothers: Ronaldo, aged 26; Reginald, aged 24; Mark Anthony, aged 20; and Rannie, aged seven. His sister, Ruby Grace, is aged 14. He lost a sixth brother to hemophilia at the age of four. Reginald and Rannie also have hemophilia. Romeo’s father earns $67 a month working as a farmer. His mother keeps the family’s rural home, which they own. His family can read and write English.
